Few Commonly Asked Futures Questions:
What are Futures? Futures are orders for Ken Wright Cellars single vineyard Pinot noir that are purchased while the wine is still aging in barrel. When you purchase futures, you will receive your pre-paid wine once it is bottled. The wine is available for shipping or pick up the following November, hence the name, “futures.”
How did the Futures Program Begin? During Ken’s open house event in 1987, he was thrilled to share an exceptional barrel of Canary Hill vineyard Pinot noir with attending guests. As he excitingly thieved from this barrel, a man and his wife expressed interest in purchasing the wine. Ken took note of their name and phone and as he went to put away the legal pad, the wife adamantly stated, “No. We love this wine so much that we want to buy it now at a discount and receive the wine when it’s ready.” The rest is history!
Which Wines are Available for Purchase through the Futures Program? A minimum two 6-Pack order is required (vineyard sampler meets minimum requirement). You may include two different single vineyard designates in 6-pack format to meet minimum requirement but no mixed 6-packs or substitutions. Minimum order requirement may also be met by a combination of odd size formats (375 ml cases, 1.5 L, 3L, 5L, or 9L) that total $590.
Why Should I Purchase Futures? Ken Wright Cellars has a long history of highly rated Pinot noir. Year after year, KWC single vineyard designates score 90+ points via Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, Paul Gregutt, and the International Wine Report. This inadvertently causes high demand for our single vineyard wines even prior to release. Purchasing Futures guarantees you will receive your favorite vineyards in your favorite formats upon release. It is also the least expensive way to acquire Ken Wright Cellars single vineyard Pinot noir.
